Older Campanion Recurve

I have an older Campanion, bought in 1995. I guess it was made by Blackjack. It came with a nice Eagle sheath. My Campanion has a bit of recurve in the blade which the present version doesn't have. Why did Camillus drop the recurve? Any reason in particular?

Marty,
I have observed a few CAMPANION's with the same "look" to them. The knife was not designed with a recurve, nor intended to look that way. What you are seeing in a "over zealous sharpening job". Remember, the sharpening bevel is put on by hand, and it is real easy, especially with a fresh belt on the grinder, to eat away to much steel when you start putting the edge on.

As I have been typing this response, Ethan Becker happen to call, and I confirmed with him that the CAMPANION was never designed to have a recurved blade, and no blanks were cut with recurves in mind, but he too has seen them that looked that way because of the way they were sharpened.

I hope this helps,...and thanks for the interest!
