Older collins axe from PA

I picked up an older collins axe (its marked made in PA USA). The axe is basically unused and never sharpened. The grain orientation is perfect but the haft has warped over the years. The haft is basically crooked left to right.

Where can I find a good handle for this axe should I decide to rehang it?

Is it possible for you to post some pics?
Any paper label left on the axe and or handle?
I could be very wrong but it sounds like you may have a Collins Axe made by Mann after 1966 in Lewiston Pa.

If you do have any labels, are they similar to these?

Perhaps a good Link handle from your local hardware store. Or you could try house handle, or any number of online handle shops.
I have purchased from BeaverTooth before. But have had recent luck with Link.

I'll try to get a picture up. It has a paper label on it: Lewistown PA part number 17044. I found a Truper handle today with what appears to be the exact eye dimensions I needed: 2 7/16 by 13/16 inch. This may not be surprising since I thought I read that Truper took over the Collins name and now made in Mexico. The replacement handle I found is for a michigan pattern and I believe that is what I have.
Edit to add: a lot of handle places are out of stock....but house handles is not. Appreciate any other info on other online handle places please.

Well,
I got to cleaning this up. Bevels completely uneven for some reason and very obtuse angle. This will need lots of work.

Long overdue follow-up. Baryonyx knife offered to sharpen the above axe. I sent it in and they did an awesome job for a great price. They even threw in a free plastic edge cover! I put it on a 36 inch handle and I call it Missy! It's a killer of an axe! Thanks Baryonyx Knife!!!

So you got another handle on it ??? I have straightened out old axe handles that were warped to one side using blocks and heavy weights and time.
