I believe they were made by either Camillus or Schrade...
One or both were contracted to produce the knives for Craftsman
Sorry couldnt be more specific. Somebody will be by and shed more light.
Nice looking stockman:thumbup:
cheers

I have a Frontier knife, the same as your Stockman in the first pic, but mine is stamped Frontier on the mark side of the main blade, and 4135/IMPERIAL/STAINLESS/USA on the back. From that, I would assume that yours was made by Imperial. IIRC, they owned Frontier at one time, and also Schrade. (I have a Craftsman Stockman made by Schrade as well.)

The second knife looks like the old Schrade SP knives; they made several sizes, mine (an SP2) is 3-1/8" closed. The knife in your pic looks longer, so it might be comparable to a Schrade SP3 (3-7/8" long closed) or, if I'm remembering correctly, there was an SP7, the longest, that came with a sheath. I'm not sure on that, but it might help you find more info on it.

edited to add: try the Schrade collectors forum; there's a goldmine of info there:

The top one looks like a Western to me

The bottom one looks like a Camillus
(Or the Schrades Orca is talking about..SP-7..Sp-4..etc)

Over in the Schrade forum
They have a lot of info on Craftsman knives

I have about 6 Craftsman knives
They have that "Pure Americana" feel to them:thumbup:

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the input! The bottom one does look like the Schrade SP3. I recently sold one on ebay.

Best Regards,
FC

Great pics, you should really post on the Bernard Leviene section for correct dates
