I was killing some time at a mall Thursday and checked in with a Victornix (sp?) store where I bought a couple folders years ago. They had a nice little spyderco selection and as I poked around saw they have some old inventory.

The old manix and temperence 1 included! The prices seemed high and I'm saving for something big or I would have been very tempted. Reminded me how important it is to see knives before buying. I've thought about the manix before and my God that is a big, thick knife!!!

If it's an original, full size, plain edge C95 Manix, you might want to reconsider. The prices the they're selling for nowadays are somewhat obscene. Doubt a brick & mortar would be charging more than the original $200 MSRP, and they've been fetching more than that on eBay.

They had a partial serrated out for display for $180 and the temperence for $120. I don't remember the last time I saw either on the bay or here. I'm a Swamp Rat stalker more than anything else, so I am not tuned in the spyderco secondary market. Sometimes it's hard to let go of a good knife too after buying to sell!

The PS isn't nearly as desirable to a collector as a PE. The 180 is about what a PS, C95 should bring at most on EBay.

A C95 in all black with partial serration just sold NIB on fleabay for $126. It was all I could do to walk (I bid $125) but I really want a plain edge and will wait around some more.

Monkeyface since we are fellow Mainers you should sell that knife to me for a small profit on your part :)

Hmmmm. I may do that. If I decide to sell it I'll contact you first. I'm still thinking if I want to use it or not.

I was lucky and obtained a foliage green Manix a year ago, cost me 120 €. About 170 $ with the current exchange rate. Not cheap but a fair price for a very good folding knife. Now maybe if I had kept it NIB it would be worth more today but I wanted a Manix as a using knife and used it has been. And without regret, too. Great knife, would have been impossible for me not to put it to good use. :)
