The time period is so close, the packaging mix may have happened one of several ways. They may have kept using the Walden inserts for a short while to deplete the stock after the name changed, or a retailer may have popped it into the wrong box during a sale, or a collector passing it on may have done so. Not a deal killer by any means. Not nearly like a much later knife put into the Walden marked package. In some instances, the factory was still shipping Walden marked inventory in the newer named packaging. Schrade Walden/Schrade was not known for wasting materials. And to retail buyers, the differences were inconsequential. Most discarded the packaging spit-spot and pocketed the knife.
