So after I got an Endura in K390 in 2022 I decided I'd been missing out. This is the perfect summer knife! (Its summer here in the southern hemisphere, don't get confused). Super light and easy to clip on when you're spending your day in sweat shorts. Plenty of blade, unbelievable cutting power and a great lock (for me).

So I thought I must try and find another one (obviously). Was browsing Knifecenter and I see the old ZDP-189 version is on special. Perfect! While I don't mind VG-10, I always try to get a steel upgrade. This is what keeps it interesting. Years ago I had a Stretch in CF and ZDP-189 which I foolishly let go. This is some good steel for edge-holding! Now 20CV is the current flavour but I think ZDP-189 is on a par, if I'm not mistaken.

So I reeled it it in... now I've got TWO pocket lasers. The ZDP-189 is more rust-resistant so will be used for cutting up pineapples and stuff. These are tough mothers!

Now to get a third in something else.... I wonder what this year will bring? 🤔

Damn, that's amazing.... I see they use ZDP-189 for kitchen knives so it must be good! The other thing I love about these Enduras is the edge comes razor sharp with lovely edge profiling. I am far from a sharpening expert and mostly use a Sharpmaker and Spyderco fine grit sharpening stone so I appreciate that.
