A friend just gave me a Schrade Oldtimer 70T. It shows some use but it's still in great shape. Can you fellas tell me what it's value might be?

Many thanks.

The collector market price of a used regular production 7-OT knife is not a lot. The intrensic value of a user Schrade knife that you like is priceless. As are firends who give you one to use.

If after using it a while you find that you have become attached to it buy another one new in the box as a keeper. Those can be had for fifty or so.

I hope it came with the belt sheath. It is by no means a pocket knife but a sheath knife. At 5" long and a half pound (8.2 ounces), it does ride better in the sheath.

Fortunately, correct sheaths in both good leather and the cheaper nylon are plentiful and inexpensive on that auction site just now.

Congratulations on your new Schrade!

i recently "won" a Schrade/USA/7OT with sheath in mint, never used condition for $11.50. it's a GREAT knife, solid, use it everyday and it will still outlive me. for whatever reason they are not popular right now, so they are really a "steal". i say, keep it, buy more of the same (be aware of China made copies) and give them as gifts to friends, just like how you got yours. it's a knife you can use for almost every knife chore. roland

Thank you for the information. I respect this knife...it's obviously well made. But I long for other knives, and I was hoping to use it as trade fodder. ;)

Thanks again for the information.

We aren't allowed to do online trading here in this forum, but if you find a Schrade collector who needs a good user of this pattern, you might come out better on a trade than selling it outright.
