I was looking for a new AAA light recently and decided on the Olight i3 EOS. So far I have been impressed with it. It has good runtime on the low setting, yet offers plenty of light on high when needed. There's no SOS or strobe to annoy me either when cycling through the settings. The pocket clip has good retention as well. When I used to carry my Preon 1, it was constantly coming out when pulling something else out of my pocket. I haven't had that happen once with this light.

It has some advantages over the Maratac or iTP versions (for me anyway). Unlike the Maratac, it has a low/med/high interface instead of the med/low/high. It will also tail stand since the keychain attachment is on the side instead of the end like the iTP. The biggest improvement is that the clip is attached with screws instead of just snapping on or off.

I like it so much that I am considering an i1 EOS next as my first CR123 light.

Thanks for the heads up about Olight's new lights. Looks like they did a good job improving upon iTP's A series lights.

By the way, nice photo. What pattern is that Case?

Thanks, it's a Swayback Jack. This one has Cayenne bone scales.

I love my iTP A3 EOS ! Iv'e only had it a couple of weeks and it's been my EDC since , the only thing I thought it should have was being able to stand up on it's bottom if needed. So now I see this and looks like I need to get one ! :D Same price as the iTP I see... I like the pocket clip with screws better than the ones that clip on.

Thanks for posting ~! Nice knife too :D I yoinked your pic to add to my screensaver of knife pics.

Thanks for the compliment, Tostig. Glad you liked the pic. I nearly bought the iTP myself, but found the Olight version when looking at some of the other lights available from the same vendor. I just ordered an i1 now that you got me thinking about it again.:D
