Hello, I am looking at getting an Olight for an edc and was wondering what are y’alls favorite small Olight‘s?
I‘m looking for one with maybe 1000-1500 lumens and I also want it to have a pocket clip, and I don’t really want to spend over $100
(side not, I don’t really know a lot when it comes to flashlights)

Any recommendations are much appreciated!

Joseph

I had an Olight several years ago. It was nice but didn't care much for their use of proprietary batteries.
Perhaps if you tell us more about your needs, we can help.
1500 lumens is a bit over the top for an EDC light unless you have specific needs.
I have found that I rarely need much over 100 max and usually much less.

Most Olight's I've seen have easily 1000-1500 Lumens, but that's for like 2 minutes then you gotta go back down to a few hundred. I also need one with a decent battery life and I would really like to try there magnetic charging system.
Other then that I'm really just asking what y'alls favorites are and what you can recommend.

I really like the mini warrior 2, easy to charge with the magnetic charger, nice interface , lock out function, nice clip, decent to great run time depending on the battery. I believe under $100 on sale which they have quite often but I’d sign up for their promotions you might get hooked on them.🥳

I have the warrior x pro. Extremely well made and tough as nails. There are several versions.
Mine is 2000 lm and I bought it because I wanted a thrower as I have several triple configurations.

8h on low… awesome light

Depends on your taste, and what size you want to carry. I've got an old copper S2 that I've carried a lot and really like. I've also got a copper R50 Seeker that's seen a lot of use. I fairly recently bought a Seeker 3 Pro - the only thing I dislike about it is the built in "safety" that prevents it from getting turned on accidentally.

There are a ton of lights out there. Is there a reason you chose Olight?
Depending on what your EDC use is, you might find that you don't need 1000-1500 lumens; especially when considering how much and how quickly EDC-sized lights step down from that peak.

Here are three I mentioned in my previous post.

(All the lights and the ruler are lined up in the left, regardless of how it looks)

I pretty much stopped chasing lights a while ago; but I still look. Much easier to stick with protected cells, with their over-discharge protection, unless you run primaries (which have the benefit of being widely available; but will yield lower power)

Everybody has you covered in the posts above. Just wanted to throw out that I thought I had the perfect set up with 10440 battery in an i3T,... after about 6 months or so it died. So don't do that!

Check out the Olight Baton 3. It seems to check all your boxes and makes a great EDC.
Also an option… I have a version of this light that came with a charging case, which is great because it always keeps the charge topped off when not in your pocket.

Not all AAA lights are 10440 compatible. The 10440 has a higher voltage and increased discharge capability, which can damage lights that aren't designed to deal with it.
Probably better off with Eneloops

Honestly I don’t NEED an edc light, I’d just really like to get one sometime. As for Olight, I’ve heard a lot of great things about them and want to try them out.
And thank you guys for your suggestions!

Not Olight, and just a touch over $100; but Acebeam has been putting out some impressive lights...and they're now a supporting vendor.
(The black aluminum body is available for less)

Most of the lights discussed here I have or had.

Nothing except the s1r and subsequent models will be small enough to actually edc. The s2 series is very big in the pocket. And remember the olight has magnetic base, so anything you have in that pocket will connect.

The size that one is willing to carry is quite subjective.
As an example, that copper R50 got carried for probably 2/3 of a year when I got it. Not in my pants pocket, of course, but in the side pocket of whatever outerwear was appropriate to the season. There are also a variety of belt pouches/sheaths for flashlights.

That said, I agree that Olight's lineup is not as pocket friendly as some other brands...but the OP excluded most of the true EDC type lights by saying he wanted 1000-1500 lumens.

The S2R Batton II has a great size for a 18650, only has a push button on the side so it doesn't come on like my warrior mini. But the biggest plus is that it's not locked in proprietary batteries and can run off CR123 cells. YMMV

Right, I agree... there's a good amount of info. out there about people doing just that - running 10440 in noncompatible Olights. I wanted to pass along to the original poster that as he is deciding what route to go, it's not as great an idea as many make it out to be.

IMO, something like this Fenix E12 is about ideal as an EDC light. Easily pocketable, common/easily accessible battery, simple low-med-high. I've had this one for years... newer versions/models may be brighter.View attachment 1915689
It's also smaller than it looks in that picture - the left side was aligned with the edge of the card.

Baton 3, I haven't carried anything since. If remembering right 1200 lumens in turbo, charge lasts forever, dual clip, magnetic base, you can lock it out, tiny little light disappears in pocket...use it every night, does a whole lot really well for such a small light
