olive oil for handles

Daxx, I may be wrong, but I don't think that olive oil is the best thing to use on handles -- the oil becomes rancid and breaks down (or at least that's what I've been told). I suppose it's better than nothing, but I think better products would be linseed oil, neatsfoot oil, or any of the products put out for oil-finishing wood (I think MinWax is one of the companies putting out such a product).
 
Yes, Olive oil isn't a very good choice for treating wood. You may protect the pores of the wood with it, but you certainly will not enhance the natural beauty of the wood and most likely obscure it as well.
