Olive wood finishes

I really love olive wood but have had problems with it. It seems to stain super easy. So I finished up a couple of knives using all new belts so it didn't stain and I just noticed that one must have been set on a wet surface or put away wet. (My wife likes how they look so she tosses them on the knife rack but doesn't do well with non stainless knives.) I found 2 little rust spots on the blade but then found grey staining all over the handle. I had finished the with Danish oil but they didn't pick much up so I used Johnson paste wax. What can I do to protect these while still keeping that warm rustic feel?

Just keep oiling it & enjoy the gradual colour change, wax will help to slow it a bit but not stop it.

C.A glue (super glue) can be used to build up a hard shiny finish that seals it completely, it will stop any colour change but the shiny surface is not to everyones taste, it's quite well suited to kitchen knives.

For lots of info on C.A glue & oil finishes Google "pen turning CA glue finish" & read for a few hours.....;).
(Use CA glue in a ventilated area so as not to OD on the fumes, it's rare but becoming sensitised to it is no fun, don't ask me how I know!)
