Hi there, just signed up for this site and need some help with a knife I have. It's an old Olsen that was given to me by my father. I have spent ten years trying to find another of the same to no avail. If someone can steer me in the right direction and where I could possibly find its twin I'd be greatly appreciated. Can't post a pic for some reason don't know why. Knife is roughly six inches long and has the look of the buffalo skinners Olsen used to make but far smaller just over six inches. It's a great little gutting and skinning knife would like to find one like knew as a gift to my dad for giving me his old hunting knife as a boy. Thanks for any help.

Without pics it's not really possible to do much. A quick check of eBay shows several different models available. As is always the case, be careful with eBay.

Olsen made knives in Howard City, Michigan. They also imported knives from Solingen with their name on them. I used to go to the factory showroom. They had a plethora of Victorinox and Swedish barrel knives which they also imported. Some of the dealers at Michigan gun shows handle mostly used Olsen knives.
Olsen used to put up signs by the roadside ala Burma Shave which you read as you moved along. One I recall: Fatty fatty--- Run for your life--- Here comes skinny--- With an Olsen Knife.
