Hi peeps,

So I have this beloved Sequel that bears one broken omega spring. It's still functional and going on strong in all appearances, but I'd still like to have it fixed....the thing is, Arthur Dawn from benchmade is all sorry that they don't send internal parts......how can I go about getting around this PITA....

I'm from Canada, sending it to the US can be over 20$ and the real issue is the customs, Canadian customs.......they could very well seized it on it's way back.....under the pretense that the thumbstuds make the knife an automatic opener....they are going full «we make up our own interpretation of the law, to the point where we make our own law»....then the thing is that they are not accountable....

I need an alternative solution guys....

If the springs are the same across the models I can send you one of mine? I have an adamas I'm about to send in for a blade replacement. If you think it'll work I would be willing to help you out. I will just have benchmade replace mine while it's there and explain to them the situation of why mine would be missing one haha

you would? really?!? :) I don't know if it would fit. I presume it should be the same has the mini grip at least.... and thinking of it, they are side specific no? it is the left spring that broke. Meaning I'm right handed, so it's the «show side» I'd say.

do you think they are of the same dimension?

Also, just ask benchmade support. Can't hurt. They sent a spare clip and thumb stud to freaking Germany to me because the official German distributor was dicking around. So, hope you get it sorted out.

I will take it apart when I get home this evening and post a couple pictures, if it will work I will send it your way. I love benchmades and it seems I will have better luck since I'm the US, and being from Indiana we don't have any automatic knife laws anymore.

Great gesture! Awesome, Baywatch..Love to see this stuff on board.

Google search...you can make your own from guitar strings.

You should contact Benchmade customer support. I have BM 710 and the right omega spring broke. Contacted Benchmade support through their site and asked about replacement springs. I explained that I live in Europe and I can't send it for repair and after 2 weeks replacement springs are here and installed on my BM 710.

Yup! I've read of them doing this quite a few times.
