Hey,

I've always been mildly interested in the flashlights people always seem to be posting about, but never really considered laying down the cash to actually buy one.

Well, I've got a birthday comming up and as per usual, I already have pretty much everything I want (or need) and comming up with ideas when family ask what I want usually leaves me with little to no idea.

Well, then I thought...one of those ultra bright flashlights would be nice!

So I've narrowed down my choices to pretty much one candidate:

The Fenix TK10 Black.

My question is this:

As far as LED flashlights currently avail on the market, can I do much better than this?

Price isn't too much of a problem, within reason, however I'd prefer to keep it under 100 bucks. So is this the most impressive flashlight I can get, or should I be considering other options?

Please let me know!

The TK10 is a well built and powerful light. Along with the rest of the Fenix range, it is good value for money. The light is quite big though, so it depends upon what you want it for as to whether you should buy it.

For something more compact but with a little less power, check out Fenix's P3D Q5.

If you do go for the TK10, you won't be disappointed. $79 at fenix-store.com. Don't forget to get some spare batteries as well.

no....as of now thats one of the tops in your price range and a great light....buy from fenix-store.com and you get a lifetime guarantee from the owner of that store....also there is free shipping and 8% off with coupon code CPF8 i think

Thanks for that info guys. I breifly considered the L1D-CE, which seems to be quite a bit smaller, and should be avail sometime in the near future - but I like the tank-like design of the TK10.

I just wanna make sure I get the brightest/best quality beam for the price range.

If the Fenix TK10 is narrowed down to your first choice - then I'd go with that.

Everyone's opinion is going to be different - what is more important is what will suit you - and I'm pretty sure you've thought a lot about this.

If you have any doubts - then you may have to spell it out for us so we can say whether that's going to be a problem or not.

I thought the T1 was great - but the TK10 is even better - it seems that Fenix listened to the feedback on the T1 and produced the TK10 -

It's a bit large for my pocket carry -
but there is no denying either is a very good light.

The Fenix TK10 is new so there are a lot of reviews on CPF in their Flashlight Reviews section.

Hope that helps.

I pretty much went to the candlepowerforums and looked at a bunch of reviews - going in knowing absolutely nothing about the finer points of flashlight collecting, and comming out knowing well....still very little, lol!

Lots of different brands but I saw the TK10 being referenced a lot (probably because it's new) so I figure why not.

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't being led astray by biased opinions or something :D

Edit: I think that pretty much settles it. Definitely going with the TK10!

Grimspoon - if it helps, I bought my first Fenix a few weeks ago, and have never been more pleased with a flashlight.:).
Not necessarily pitching that model over the one you are settled on, but I have spent almost twice as much on other lights, with not even 1/4 the run time.

Only thing though that has not been tested is impact resistance - so only time will tell how it will survive my clumsy nature.

The primary reason why I went with the P3D over the Tk10 model was the longer run time potential & I wanted something small enough to carry daily in my pocket.

Hope you enjoy it
