. . . to a SS Dragonfly. This is something I'd like to do to dress it up. But will "2-ton" epoxy be enough to hold the scales on? Also, how does one cut stag? can I use a hacksaw or Dremel, or is it too brittle & will it require serious power tools? I know this is the best possible place to get these questions answered, thatnks for any input.

PS - also, the scales would have to be very thin for such a small knife - does anyone know who sells thin stag scales? thanks again - FF5

I don't know what size an SS Dragonfly is but I have some
smaller stag slabs left PM me or E-amil me.
you can cut Stag many ways but the thinning is done easyer by
sanding on a belt gringer or a mill,, just don't over heat it..
I use a miller on most of it.

I just finished the exact same project on a SS Fly, I used the Devcon 2 part epoxy on mine, don't believe the directions that it drys in 45 mins, I did use screws on mine, but honestly it's just for show purposes, if you let the stuff cure overnight you should be fine.
Like Dan said the milling machine is faster and I use that after cutting it as flat as possible.
Altho you want your scales thin, allow enough to begin with to make dead sure you get a flat side.
Meat processing houses during deer season is a great place to get material, they just throw scrub antlers away and will usually give you more than you can use.
Good luck and have fun, Ron
