On Becker Scale Screws, How Tight Should They Be?

Did a search but could not find definitive answers. Just wanted to know other than using LOCTITE, how tight should the screws on the Becker scales be? Is there any specified "torque" that's suggested? On my Beckers I'm cranking mine down quite hard by hand, but also am aware of not doing so too hard as to crack/split the scales. Or am I over thinking this quite obsessively?

Any information that's forth coming would be appreciated.

Yes, yes you are... :)

Slightly hand tight. Just enough so the screws don't fall out.
If it will live lashed to a buzzy ATV, then maybe a little tighter. Otherwise less is more.

But a little Locktite isn't a bad thing, either.

3.78 inch pounds. That's spec, and you'll void the warranty if you go over.

:D

Seriously, get you a tube of removable strength Loctite.
Crank 'em a hair past hand tight, and never look back.
You can split the Grivory if you get all World's Strongest Man on 'em.

I've actually found that bees wax works just fine. I didn't have any loctite so I just rubbed the threads with the wax and they've been good to go ever since.
And yes there definitely is such a thing as too much of a good thing. :D

Clear fingernail polish is good too.
Another usage: When I use a firesteel, I'll usually coat the exposed surface to cut down on oxidation.
