just received pd with snakeskin handle today. (thanks voracious!) i want to get an iwb sheath for it but want to know who you guys think makes the best sheath of this type. i have purchased two in the past for my lms and wasn't very satisfied with either. first one had no retention in it whatsoever and the second one i bought had the belt attachment mounted too low so the handle rode too high. this time i'm going to do it right and get a sheath by someone who actually has carried a knife this way. it would also be nice if i didn't have to send my knife to maker either
thanks in advance

Hi Witchhunter, are you looking for leather, or kydex? Theres a good number of each kind of maker wandering around here. I'm sure one of them will trip over this thread as soon as you give a preference. Hope this helps,
Dwayne

Hey witchhunter...

Hopefully neither of those sheaths were mine...

Could you post a picture of the LMS and sheath ?

I make sheaths for the LMS, just wondering if it is mine or not..
If it is,, I'll fix it, so that it will work for you..
Don't like having product out that people aren't happy with...

Drop me a note personally or post pictures here.. If it's mine,, I'll come clean and fix it for you!

Eric, sorry that circumstances kept you from Blade man. You were missed.

Good times there.

Hope you can make one of the others bro.

sorry guys should of been more clear. i was looking for a kydex sheath.
don't worry Normark it isn't one of yours. it is a blade-tech sheath which is a nice hi quality sheath. it just doesn't carry all that well. it carries to high above the belt for such a small knife. i would like it to ride lower so the handle doesn't poke me in the ribs all day. the first sheath i had made carries great but has no retention, i mean if you turn the sheath over the knife will fall out.

lol, ive been thinking about lowering my peronsal carry sheath as well... but my problem would be that there would be 2 retentions, the kydex and the snap strap to keep the sheath from flopping around on the low ride seat belt...

Hey thatmguy...

Yaaaa it Really sucked having to stay home..Family needs me right now though,,and thats more important than anything...

I would have just gotten drunk and made a fool out of myself anyway..:) LOL

Next Year!

Thanks for the thoughts...

WH...

I'll tell you what.. I'll have a look at the LMS sheaths i have, and see if i can't lower the carry on it...If I can I will...

I'll assume that you'll want it g-clipped ?

Shoot me your name and address,,and i'll pop one in the mail for you.. Consider it a Long term field test.

Just to clarify,,it is a LMS you have ???
I have no way of testing them for fit,as I don't have a knife on hand,,however, since they are on the shelf, they should be Ready to go.

Hows that ??

hey normark that is a real nice offer. yes it is a lms. i'm not sure exactly what a g clip is though but i'll try it out. i want to pay for the sheath though. i figure this is how you earn your money so i wouldn't feel right about it otherwise. e-mail sent
thanks guy :)

Hey WH..

No problem at all.....:)

A G-clip is a belt loop which is shaped like a "G". It allows you to carry both IWB and OWB..
It's a nice little set up.

As far as you paying me for it..
Theres No reason to pay...

You are using it under a Long Term Field Test.. When you die,,have your estate send whats left of it back..:)
LOL It's yours to keep,,no worries Ok..

I would like to know your comments both good and bad on the sheath...

Other than that,,Please enjoy it,,and work it hard.

Since I'm already the spoiler/reality talker around here, why should I stop now. Normark, about a year and a half ago you were a real hot sheath maker and I sent you about three e-mails asking about a sheath for a SH-E. You never answered one. I guess you were too busy. I ended up buying several BuyBrown sheaths (and I'm glad I did, they're tops". I guess business has slacked off a bit and now you are giving away sheaths? Trying to look like the good guy helping out a fellow knife nut who's been done wrong? Please.

Business has dried up, and Normark is giving you a pitch. Both Oku and Brown make better sheaths anyway, and they don't live in Canada.;)

Ugh. This can't lead to anything productive. If you never recieved a sheath from this maker, how could you say that the others are better?

Nevermind. Don't answer that. None of my business. Glad you did find sheaths you like anyhow.

Hey Matt..

Ohh Ok.. LOL

Yaaa you've got me there.. I'm washed up, and I'm giving a sheath away that's gathering dust as a tactic to pick my business up off it's knees.

Just so you know.. I give product away on a regular basis, because it's the type of person I'am, and Yaa it's good for business.

As for the quality of my work,, I'll let the sheaths and my customer base speak for me.

As for the Canadian/US thing Don't start that with me.

And for this statement

"you were a real hot sheath maker"

You are hereby placed under "Homo Suspicion ".. :)

Um, I've given away quite a few sheaths! Uh oh! Guess I will be going to "sheath hell" too!!! Dangit, just when I thought I was doing good..... do I need to ask for them back to atone for my sins?

Matt....

All kidding aside, and to address your not getting email back from me..
There can be several reasons why..

1. I'm Extremely busy, with contract, custom, and military orders. I physically cannot get to every email I receive. Over the course of a three month period I made over 700 sheaths, and still spent as much time on the computer as I could. My suggestion to anyone trying to get in touch with me is Keep Trying, I'll get to you ASAP...

2. During the time you may have emailed me, I went through at least 3 serious computer crashes with data loss on them all, and 2 new computer hardware upgrades. The email records I have left have no trace of your email address on them, nor does my hotmail account.

So the fact that I didn't email you, doesn't mean I was intentionally ignoring you, I just simply may not have gotten it, or it was lost.

As far as you buying from Oku and David.. That's excellent.. I'm sure you are satisfied with their fine products. I hope that they both have a long term customer in you. They both have good reps around here and make a good solid product.

I also gave a new military client a brand new knife and sheath I purchased to give to a Marine going to Afganistan. Not to mention a personal knife of mine, because I couldn't get him a sheath to fit his knife, and there was no time to fix the situation. I guess that was wrong of me also

Feel free to read my post here on June 04-04

The fact that you feel I'm "pitching" myself because I'm giving something away shows me,, you haven't been paying attention, and you have absolutely no idea,,even the faintest clue about me.

You simply haven't been around here long enough to know any better...

Theres enough people on this very forum who can set you straight on me..Feel free to ask around Matt..

As far as the Canada/US thing goes.. Just so you are better informed,, I buy 100% of my materials in the US, I live 40 mins from the US/Canada border, was basically raised in MI, and still go there and shop HARD 2-3 times per month, and keep strong ties with friends and family across the Ditch.

that is a real nice thing to do for someone. i really appreciate it. having a sheath that doubles as a iwb/owb sounds to good to be true. when i was going hiking or something i would switch sheaths to the factory model for belt carry because iwb is hard to do with camelbacks/backpacks.
as far as the us/canada thing goes this is the first time i ever heard of buy american in a forum. i guess guys like Wally Hays and Greg Lightfoot never sold anything in the u.s.
guess i better stop looking at the srkw rat tail.
i'll be sure to do a lifetime field test and let you know what i think Normark
thanks guy :)

Hey WH...

Well I'm glad you see it for what it is, and not something else. I also hope that Matt's opinion of me hasn't spoiled anything for you...

As far as carrying IWB with back packs,, you could test the retention on this rig, and try carrying it inverted.

Hopefully the sheath will live up to your expectations...

I bought an NO-E that came with an On Scene Tactical sheath, and I could not be more pleased with the sheath - I like the design, and the fit is great. The OST sheath Eric designed for the Simonich Urban Raven is pretty cool too. Keep up the good work Eric!
