Where can I find an on-line steel comparison chart?

Dennis,
I seem to remember Spyderco had a fairly
good knife steel chart. That was on the old website. I don't know if it was transfered to the website. Let me pop over there and check.

I'm back. It doesn't look like the steel chart made it over to the new website.

The answer to this and many questions like it can be found in the FAQ section in the front of the BFC forum. Here is an exerpt from Joe Talmadge's steel FAQ's:

http://www.spyderco.com/elements.html
Spyderco's steel pages http://www.online.ru/people/malex/
Malex's steel composition http://www.crucibleservice.com/
Crucible's web page ... loads of great info http://www.knives.com
many interesting things, but especially hit "Tech", then "Steel" http://www.snafu.de/~kvonp
Kevin Wilkins has a cross-reference page for steel names

Here's another site: http://www.shreve.net/~primos/steelcmp.htm

In addition, information regarding most steels and non ferrous alloys can be found at one of these two sites: http://www.principalmetals.com/ http://www.matweb.com/

Hope this helps. Walt
