As a side note, decided not to bring a large fixed blade on this trip. Only have my Brend and a shoulder rig to carry it in. Using the old H-harness, it rides well. Will post pics when we return...

Tried my best to get the shoulder rig to ride comfortably, however, due to the spiked pommel of the brend, it just wouldn't work...

hooked up with a machinist here on the ship and ground off the point. Would have been nice to have, but rides 10x better now!

Also had the thing sharpened up on the wheel and then used a hone to get the "field edge" sharp...

Looks (and rides!) good now. Couple of my buddies wish they had one...
