I am lookin to use some for tying the round and suare sinnet for lanyards. However, I see that the standard 550lb paracord seems to be a tad bit to big. Is there any 250 lb or anything else that is made smaller? It would be a definite plus if they made them in different colors as well. Can your send me a link? Thanx for all your help!! :)

Try this place U Braid It or The Happy Camper

You can also remove the inner guts of the paracord to make it thinner. It will lay flat making it easier to work with.

shomer-tec.com has a thinner cord called spectra cord IIRC its about 1/2 the size of std and works great for knife fobs/etc, i wasnt able to find this particular cord in black anywhere but shomer-tec, REI has some similar stuff a tad thicker but its not in black, if ya need OD, pink, red, candy stripe, etc ya might try them, with all the colors they had i cant figure why no black, but they told me that they didnt have that.

If you have any "outdoors" stores, nearby, you might check them for 2 or 3mm cord. Comes in a variety of colors, though only one or two might be available at any given time (they might have spools of other colors not on display-waiting for the current spool to run out).
edit: Thought I'd add a pic of some of the cord I've picked up over time(what hasn't been used up or given away) to give you an idea of what I've gotten from stores like the Happy Hiker, Alabama Outdoors, etc.

Bought about 300 ft of Spectra Paracord from shomer-tec, Cool stuff. I love making those ball chain necklaces sheathed in various color paracord. The Spectra cord is must smaller in diameter ... so I am still trying to figure out how to pull that one off. :D

Is there an online guide to different braids and balls and such as that? I saw the one online guide at U-Braid-It. That was pretty neat.

You can take out the inner strands of paracord and use it a a flat cord, should work fine for sinnets.

Accesory cord from climbing shops comes in lots of sizes and colors, costs a bit more than paracord though.

I am in a very slow connection right now and am having trouble with web searches but I recommend Google searches for "kumi himo" and for "finger loop" braids OR braiding which should get some info.

There have been some good threads on knots and lanyards in Bladeforums, a search here should bring some info too.
