My good buddy Eric(Normark) at On/Scene Tactical has made what I think, are some pretty damn cool shoulder rigs. Eric is known for his kydex mastery and these are no exception.
When most bears are going into hibernation, I'm just comming out. Fall, Winter and early spring are when I'm active. The colder the better! I train in conditions that freeze lighters in your pocket and render cameras, flashlights, gps's useless in no time. Therefore, I like to keep these items close to my body but easily accessible. I asked Eric for a rig to keep a few crucial pieces of kit all snuggly-wuggly.... this is what we came up with.
A shoulder rig would carry items next to your body while keeping them off your belt....
This rig holds an O-Light T15 torch, 2 AA batteries and a butane lighter...
This kit holds a butane lighter and a Zebra torch. The cool part about this one is that if you slide the kydex torch sheath up the paracord it peeks out at your chest and can be set for hands free lighting...
I'm really happy with these. Last year I tested one in -40F temps... worked like a charm! My next challange for Eric is to incorporate a multitool into the rig.
