I was told today by a Camillus Rep. that all employees are now on strike. He also stated that the tooling that Camillus used on some Case knives has been shipped to Bear Cutlery. I think this will make the yellow handle USA Schrade Walden Knives, that Smokey Mountain sells go up in value. The Rep. Told us that this will probably close the Camillus factory or put it in bankruptcy.

This is a very sad day for the Camillus company and a sad day for people who wish to collect American made knives. Camillus has always been one of my favorite knife companies.

Jumped the gun.

I had not read the new threads in the forum. When I heard this news I wanted everyone to know this information ASAP. Very sorry to post news that was already posted.

All the Remington USA made knives were made by Camillus. If Camillus closes Remington must find a new sub-maker. This could really push the value of Remington Knives higher, the ones that were made by Camillus. As for the collectors value on Camillus knives they should also increase, however I do not feel that the Camillus name is very important to collectors as other names are.

Not true, United's Arrowhead plant has been making knives for Remmington for some time now.

I had heard that too. Good luck to the Camillus workers and their families. I hope none of them pass up on other opportunities. I'm not saying for them to give up on the company, but rather to protect themselves and their families because no one else will.
