On the beach

Congrats Guy!

We were just there in June, beautiful place.

Not that there's any shortage of things to do, but Outer Banks Distilling in Manteo makes great rum and have a cool tour (just call). Still have an unopened bottle of their Kill Devil in my cabinet. :D

I'm not much of a beach person, but I do like the birds and fish. (I'm a biologist by education)
 
I go there every year! Many, many memories. I recommend the fish tacos at Mama Kwans, the cheesesteak egg rolls at The Kill Devil Grill and anything on the menu at Josephine's. All kinds of tasty eats down there. Enjoy!
 
Awesome! Enjoy! I spent a few summers piling up dead soldiers in Kill Devil Hills - but that was the 80's....man, the youngers missed one hell of a decade let me tell ya HAHA!!! - Got my Joe Elliott tank top on the beach there and had the hair to go with it LOL! .... can't say that is still true :rolleyes:
 
Another cigar by the beach evening. Started with cigars with the ladies on the back porch. That was nice. Tried our hand fishing on the sound side againthis morning, no luck. Bought some fresh shrimp and made a garlic shrimp pasta dinner. Tomorrow will be breakfast at 'Biscuits n Porn' and then drive down to Hatteras and take the ferry to Ocrakoke.
 
Sounds like a great trip Guy, enjoy the time with your family and some alone time with a fine cigar and drink!

Ocracoke is where my family vacations every year. It is by far my favorite place to go. While you're there, try Thai Moon for some killer take out food.

The private beach is amazing, but be weary of stingrays this time of year (particularly at the private beach at the northern part of the island near the ferry from Hatteras).
 
Did you stop at any of the awesome fruit markets on the way down? You're coming from Ohio, so I don't know if you take different highways. Morris' is our favorite.
