The Buck knives that have found their way onto my desk today.

Thank you ds.

I'll put some back where they are out of harm's way when I cut myself or when there is not enough space to work... :)

This out my door. I was going to mow the grass but figured that the four-legged yard keepers could have at it instead of me.

Nice views oregon, both inside and outside:thumbup: pretty cool seeing all those models lined up like that. I am curious how long it takes bamboo to get that size where you are?

Thank you sit.

There are 30 million deer in this country. 100 years ago there were 1 million. Riddle me this: Why do I still have yard work?

That is giant timber bamboo. One of the largest, P. Vivax, I believe. I brought it home in the trunk of a Cadillac all curled up many years ago. It took about 5 years to get real thick and 3-4 to get very tall. Each stalk gets more dense as the years roll bye. Older is stronger.

Snowy Egrets in large Douglas Fir tree: Near and far shots

All is vanity. They preen themselves.

My deer only eat my morning glories:eek: I don't know why, but they will chomp on the vines like they are 10 foot long spaghetti strands. Very early morning and nighttime creatures they are here. Thanks for the snowy egret pics, never seen one in a pine tree before. That 124 looks like a beast compared to the folders in line with it! I think I need a 124 to keep MY other Bucks in line:D thanks for the great Buck photos once again Oregon...

You are welcome. My pleasure.

The 124 is here for a while it seems. I've seen some bargains lately compared to last year when they were first brought back. I don't think I've ever been more satisfied with a fixed blade purchase. Six were gifted to male family members and I had a heck of a time grading them into safe queen vs user categories because they were all so near perfect. I'm anticipating the BCCI Lucite 124 coming soon.

That's funny, I almost immediately saw the huge bamboo trunks.

A Bittern doing their stick imitation.

Another member of the Heron family: The Great Blue Heron

There are four different types of bamboo on this woodlot and they are all sending up shoots now. The shoots come straight up out of the ground in the diameter they are going to be. If I don't want that particular shoot I simply kick it and it snaps off, stopping it completely. Give a shoot a couple of years and you need a chainsaw to deal with it. With a snow load the very tall stalks torque right out of the ground as they fall. After a big snow storm years ago it was like giant pick-up-sticks and took me hours to leave the property due to clearing all of the fallen stalks.

Great shot!

You must have told him a good deer joke because he's laughing.

Just added more stuff to the desk and I think that I'm gonna actually wear it. Gotta get a better belt I think but only if I lose a few inches:

Oregon,

Every pic you take especially with the 124 is AWESOME!!!!!!! Thank you Sir for posting them.

RJ, the Frontiersman takes my breath away in person. I was not prepared to enjoy having it as much as I do. I saw it as an opportunity and now it is a favorite. It is a good photo aid for scale and it adds class and zing to a picture. The buckle is the only new item and it looks great with the 124. I am wearing the buckle now and I like it but I would hate to bang it up so probably won't have it on when I work downtown tomorrow.

It's a joy to see water and green from somewhere. Thanks, DM

This is a very dry Spring BTW. The lawn is still green but when I mow the dust is profuse.

A varmint with breakifast, early this AM. Could be member of weasel family or, more likely, infant nutria:

Great Blue Heron flew from its perch just behind it as a Govt. worker drives a white p/u on a road to the right of me on the opposite side of this canal, just after sunrise when you can sometimes beat the feds. to the punch:

You, Desert Dave, could pick this hombre up by one hand I'm certain. Yep you could. it was moving from left to right in this tall grass, keeping it's head low and you see the back of it's head in this shot I believe (early in the day and overcast sky = so so photography):

China pheasant in the middle of a maintenance road, very early this AM, not quite enough light but I had to capture this photo as I've been hearing his call, but not seeing him, for a month:

Thank you for the kind words. I like to walk in the morning and usually take a camera and binoculars with me. Years ago I was walking and watched as two Osprey gave a large Bald Eagle mad squabbles and wished I'd had a camera and binoculars, and I've never seen action in the air like that since...

I'm like a Thanksgiving turkey at my desk with good stuff, cutlery, surrounding me. :) Thank you kindly. I love this stuff.

Oregon, Thanks for the photos. Coyotes are hard to photograph, unlike knives, birds and deer. We are speaking of different levels of Dry. I'm seeing no water in our rivers, not even mud. No grass, just sand. Depressing landscape on the order of Luna landscape. Good work on all. DM
