This thing is about the size of a cigar but its kept me tobacco free for a week. It's called the "eVic" and runs a Nova tank. I have been using 24 mg solution and I have had zero cravings for legitimate cigarettes. The unit has a digital readout and tells the battery strength, temperature, length of hit, and the amount of hits left at any specific voltage. You can vary the voltage between 3-6v which controls the size of hit. I have tried to quit 5-10 times in my life and I think I can do it this time thanks to this device. When I run out of my current supply of 24 mg, I'll reduce to the 18 mg and so on. Maybe you might even see this one for sale on the exchange when I'm nicotine free...

I started smoking when i was 12. My wife asked me why i started smoking. I said ?IDK?, my parents smoked i guess. She said exactly. I never smoked around my wife or in the house/vehicles while she was pregnant. I quit the day my first child was born. Never smoked since. I was 28 then. I am 49 now. We have 2 kids, neither one smokes. I felt no difference but i was young when i quit. BUT---YOU GOTTA WANT TO QUIT. If not, it just becomes a lesson in futility. Cold turkey, thats just the way it's gotta be. Only thing i regret---also giving away my woodland camo Zippo lighter, that i bought in Kaiserslautern Germany, in the PX. LOL :D

Hmm, I've heard lots of bad stuff about ecigs, the oils especially. You should research more about ecigs before using them, I've heard a lot of peoples lungs were hurting from smoking too much of that oil stuff.. could also be the preservatives that are causing the side effects as well. look into propylene glycol and its side effects, that's the chemical that's in shampoo and other stuff.

I'm using a Kanger EVOD with an EGO style 900 mAh battery. Down to 18mg 50/50 vg/pg liquid.

Smoking regular cigs with over 2,000+ chemicals in them including embalming fluid, cyanide, tolulene, carbon monoxide, cadmium, and arsenic can't be better than e-cigs. I wonder, is there an easy way to determine which are better than others? Some folks at work are using the Blu e-cigs, others are using something similar to what Matt has, but it looks more like a cigarette than a water bong. Any ideas?

Perhaps on some subconscious level, I picked a unit that looked like drug paraphrenialia?

Tried green smokes that is shaped like a regular cigarette but the kick wasn't there and wouldn't handle long drags that I do. Picked up a ego style and haven't looked back. Yeah it should be healthier then smoking cigarettes but I do think I am consuming a lot more nicotine because I can do it indoors with out having to worry about the smell getting into everything.... just something I've noticed.

I love your screen name.

I've seen some e-cigs that are pretty small by comparison:

Matt your ecig looks like one of the ecigars I've seen.

I quit smoking coming up on 6 months ago after smoking for 15 years and I did it with the "ecigs". In the past I tried a few different brands with zero luck (one of them being that brand Blu). This time I tried again and maybe had a little more conviction but I was sucessful with those cheap Enjoy cigs from 7-11. They seemed to have a little more kick than the others I tried and were just gross enough that I didnt get hooked on them instead of cigs.

Now I dont smoke and dont need any subsitute either. Good luck with it man, its not easy.

I smoked for 15 years as well. I was at 3-4 cartons per month. I'm 31 BTW. Still tobacco free.

Ive tried. IMO its a huge pain in the ass. Yea its fun at first, then it becomes a hassle catering to the batteries/liquids etc.

Ive tried a few; all 3 kinds were the small cigarette size, both rechargeable and disposable. They just don't last, or dont work when you need them.
The best one for me was the NJOY red, that is a disposable. "Claims" to be 2 packs worth...BS. The thing barely last a day and cost $8....that didn't last long. Its really stupid using it, just wondering the whole time when the battery is gonna die.

I cant bring myself to carry around the crazy huge Ecigs. Tho I see alot of the smaller e cig types...I think you'd get alot of stares and questions with that big bong/weed/meth looking thing. Im already ugly :D

Sigh;
The search continues.

I smoked about a pack to a pack and a half (sometimes two if the occasion called for it) per day. Im 28 and the allure of it caught me early on. Good job on stayin strong.

I used to EDC a Surefire C3 so the size and weight don't bother me much. As far as other people's reaction, a lot of people know what they are.

I've been using an e CIG for a little over 4 years now. They are great and I'm nearly done with them.

Propylene glycol is in all sorts of things including donuts and over 1000+ other food products. You ingest it weekly most likely. I prefer vegetable glycerin as it is a little tamer on my throat.

Which one do you use?

Currently an ElectronixStix Megaladon and several eGo variations. Owned plenty of high end mods but just like knives, I prefer simplicity and durability. Mechanical mods are great, and they fit my lifestyle.

If anyone has any questions they can e mail me. I've tried lots of retailers/brands/devices/liquids etc.

Ecigs may seem gimmicky to some, but they saved me and with a little knowledge I guarantee anyone can quit smoking regular cigarettes. I can run a 6 minute mile these days. Not so much when I smoked.
