so something crazy happened last night. I had a dream that I got a BK4 and took it camping instead of my 9 an loved it... Maybe the Becker bug has gone to far... Call me crazy, but now I actually wanna buy one. At the current price of $65, theyre hard to pass up too. My only concern is sharpening. I have a smiths tri hone system and I'm pretty much a noob as far as sharpening. What can I do to sharpen it, and are the difficulties of sharpening it to much for a beginner like me? Thanks in advance.

Well I just bought one for a total of $61 (including shipping). I feel crazy making an impulse buy like this, but I don't see myself regretting it. Originally, the plan was to buy a 16 next, since I have a 7 and a 9, but I can get the 16 another day, they aren't being discontinued ;)

The 4 cannot be sharpened. When you get it use it,get it good and dull. Then send it to me I will dispose of it properly.:D

My second BK4 showed up last Thursday. It too was an impulse buy. I was checking out BK7's and clicked buy on a 4.
I fear that may happen again with a BK15 soon and then a BK5.

I sharpen my 4 on the WorkSharp. It does a great job. I put 25 degrees on the front for chopping strength and 20 degrees near the handle for finer work. Congrats on the incoming 4

Great deal! I had the fam out tonight making feather sticks for BCUSA and all my beckers were out. The wife had a death grip on the 16, my daughter went between the 14 and 12, settled on the 12 and did great! I found myself rockin it with the 4! Chopped, batoned, and had a hat full of feather sticks in no time! It's quickly earning a spot at the top for me. I always think "I'll try the 4 for this" or that whatever I'm doing with another knife and it performs just as well or better for whatever the task may be. I'm trying to stop myself from doubling up but $61 shipped? Dang...
