I am on the fence on buying a Tom Mayo Knife next..I don't know a lot about him but from what I see his stuff has an amazing fit and finish. You guys have any experience with them? Are they a little over rated or worth the grand? Do they hold up over time and are they easy to care for? :D
Thanks guys!!!

Are you getting the knife directly from Tom or is from another collector? Which model, what blade steel, which blade profile? While I've never owned a Mayo I have handled quite a few and I've always been impressed with the overall fit, finish, and craftsmanship. The price depends on the above criteria though.

Not my area of expertise, but I've never heard anything but praise about Tom's knives.
ACK has a good reputation. If you are on the fence, why not contact them and ask for more pics?

You are wise knarfeng..I just called them unfortunately their Business Hours: Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 4 PM EST ugh!!! Can't call till monday...

You will not go wrong getting a Mayo!

Don't worry about AZ Custom--if she says that it is "mint", it is mint.

I have owned several Mayos and each one was excellent. I carried a small TNT every day and used it extensively. I just had it refurbed by Tom to same as new condition.

I have also not lost money on one Mayo that I have owned. They hold their value.

There was a new Dr Death jr. on the custom exchange recently for $850 it might still be available.
