Here's the beginning of some new ones I just started in .125" O1 and .262" 5160. I also have a couple of neckers I'm working on in .090 6al4v aerospace grade titanium.

I just used my friction saw to cut this titanium, talk about serious stuff to cut.

These are O1 steel; 1/8" thick and 9" long. I'm not sure if I'll keep the thumb ramp on the bottom one.

These are about a foot long and are .262 5160 steel. You can see a rough titanium necker and part of a kiridashi hiding back there also.

Here's the first fully ground one of the batch... a .090 titanium necker. It will get a west system epoxy soaked cord wrap soon. Orangepeel finish and rounded spine for maximum grip.

Ulu/survival axe/knife This one is still rough...

Good stuff, Daniel! I'm looking forward to seeing the Ti necker with the wrap.

The batch of O1 blades is looking sweet too!!

I put in about 10 hours today at the KMG and got these started up.

The second one up is hollow ground and the rest are flat ground or flat to convex tip.

Man, I can't wait for that chopper, looking good!

Thanks, both choppers are almost ready for heat treat!

I've been working all day on a .360" 5160 cleaver that looks like a massive straight razor, it will go in the same batch for heat treating.

hmmm, I see 3 that are on my wishlist :D good stuff! keep up the new designs!

I don't know how the wraps are done, but shouldn't the epoxy be put on after it's wrapped? Or do you soak the cord then wrap it while it's still wet?
This is a cool looking little knife. Is that a gun bluing chemical on it?

Thanks Jonny, the epoxy on the wrap is drying now! I just colored the blade before this photo...

Yes I wrap it then soak it with epoxy. I tack the cord wrap down with some high quality superglue before I apply the epoxy after the wrap is finalized. The West System I use wicks in to the cord leaving a very heavy duty wrap that is relatively easy to apply. I use a toothbrush to work in the epoxy, the wicking does the rest.

The bluing is done by heating the titanium with a torch. I blued it per customer request. You have to hold it at a pretty even temperature to do it all blue, you can see some of the other colors at the butt end. Try a few practice pieces first. Coating the blade in wd40 prior to bluing helps the colors pop and makes them easier to see when they are developing especially if done in the light. You can also do it in a dimly lit area to see the titanium glow and go by that.

Thanks, I'm glad you like the knife!
