Today I received a new Spyderco S.P.O.T. neck knife with micarta scales. After wearing it for half the day I am very impressed. The S.P.O.T. is tiny and light, but it provides such a terrific grip that you can use it in ways you wouldn't think of trying with any other blade that size.
I think of the "Cricket" blade shape as a utility design, but now that I've handled the S.P.O.T. I have no reservations about its defensive potential. That strange pointy tip lines up with my punching knuckles perfectly. All of that belly should make for a nasty slasher too.
So far the only thing I don't really like about the S.P.O.T. is its name.
Aside from the silly acronym this is a fun little knife with a strong practical side.
