Here is the current Street family....

First, the MS Protos that were never released when the Ergo line came out.

Next, Lean Means, the top one is the last one to leave the factory, and is still unsharpened...;)

The Desert Warfares. The bottom one is a fatty, 0.275 IIRC...

And finally, the rest of the kids. Recurve custom from Blade 2006, Early A2 blued tang, slotted INFI fatty, and the bottom one is my first Busse purchase, a cord wrapped INFI pup. Best $100 I ever spent...

And no, nothing is for sale, trade, or barter....

What is the difference between the Lean Means and Desert Warfares? Is it just thickness. It looks like there may also be a difference in that one has polished spines and the other does not, but I can't tell from your pics for sure.

All of the LMSs I've seen are coated spine/tang.

The DWMS's are a mixed bag. The fatty is black smooth coated spine/tang. The middle one is satined spine/tang. The top one we (previous owner and I) figure was a factory recoat, since it is DWMS thickness, but crinkle coated.

I've seen three thickness DWMSs ( or at least that is what they were termed), just under 1/4 (I think 0.230), 1/4, and then some fatties (0.270).

Awesome blades! It's cool that you're showing some proto's:thumbup:

Hammy,

Could you post the specs on these protos. They look like my dream backpack/camp knife:o Also do you have any idea when they were made.

Thanks,
Tony G
