I really like this extra large toothpick with a 4 inch blade. Love the slim design.

could you tell me the expressed use for a toothpick blade? i can imagine it's good for filleting and other food prep. even makes a good steak knife. doesn't look like it's for whittling or pruning or whatnot.

The food prep and opening envelops and packages are the main use. I just like how it looks.

I've been wanting a big toothpick for some time now. I just got this Case Classic toothpick. I would have preferred a blade without decoration, but I really couldn't pass up on the deal! :)

It has "Memphis Knife Collector's Club" on the blade. It makes good set with my Case Classic moose, they both have the same bone scales.

I got one of these because I love the look of the swedge. Now I want one of the standard large Case toothpicks. I like the look of the full flat ground blade-- a real slicer!

I've always been more fond of GEC's #12 toothpick pattern seeing as the blade isn't too terribly extreme in it's construction like Case and Queens current offerings. But still I too at times wonder what the origins of the toothpick pattern are. I've also heard it referred to as a tickler pattern or French tickler and IMO it's hard to deny it's French lineage.

They are descended from the Navaja of Spain.

I'm sure this type of knife was popular all over Europe.
