Ok guys, since many of you know my situation and i am awaiting the results from it, I am looking for my next knife. When i bought the 7, i had every intention of buying the 2 and then saw that there wasnt much difference in price. While i hope that the 7 issue is just a fluke, i cannot get over how many positive reviews there are for the 2. I also think that if i would have put the 2 to the same test of the 7, it would have smiled at me and begged for more. The 9 has the same type of reviews, is a little more expensive, but longer blade, and i have read nothing but positive things about it as well. So i pose the question to you guys. In all honesty, i will probably purchase both at some point, but given the situation i am in with the 7, i want to get the one that will live up to the becker name you guys so highly speak of. Bring it on.

The 2 is definitely a tank of a knife. But it's a big heavy chunk of steel, and in my estimation it's a bit unwieldy as a result. I personally prefer the 9, although it's not really a prybar like the 2. I guess it depends on what you need from it. I think the 9 is a more generally useful KNIFE, but the 2 is probably a more generally useful TOOL, if that makes sense. The 9 will excel at most tasks you'd really put to a knife. The 2 will take anything you hurl at it. It may not be the best at any given task, but it can do a heck of a lot of them.

I could'nt put it into words better than that^. Get the 2.

I am thinking more and more about the bk2. But there again there is the bk16 out there as well. Decisions decisions. Oh how i would love to be rich and pick up the whole line of them! Isnt the bk16 just a smaller version of the 2? In a survival scenario, while i realize the weight is not going to be ideal, i would like to think the 2,7,and 15 as well as the glock etool i have on the way would get me thru everything i ever needed. Would you guys agree with this?

If you're looking to dish out a beating, I heard the 2 said something about yo mama.

I'd personally just go 9,15 (or 16 or 17...whichever you prefer). Sharpened e-tools are pretty fun in the woods.

If I were ever in a survival situation I would pick the BK2 out of any other Becker, hands down.

Given your expectations with the knives per your other thread, you really should buy the BK2.

Ok, so the 2 is on its way! I am really excited about it, as it is the one i really wanted before i bought the 7! So i am hoping they replace the 7, but if not, oh well. I have another question though. If they do replace my 7, i really wont need a 9 then will I? I have read that you can do everything from skin a deer to gut a fish to campfire chores and such as well as put the 2 thru a plate of steel. I know it is big and combersome, but i wouldnt think it would be good for the skinning and gutting. I am also looking at the 5, and the 15 for just this purpose. What are the pros/cons of the tweener series vs the big boys given there isnt much of a price difference?

Congratulations!! A wise decision indeed. You wont be dissapointed with the BK-2. You won't be able to hold yourself back from the 9 though. Just a heads up.

I have yet to hurt my 2, and I have tried. A lot.

I don't think you will be let down. I have seen your 7 thread, I know for a fact my 2 would have ate that root for a light snack.

Tweeners are great. Again, fantastic little knives. Also not unbreakable prybars, but then, IMO I don't think you SHOULD be able to break any Becker doing what you did, except maybe for the 13. I even feel like my 11 CSM would have held up just fine prying at roots. Not gonna TRY, mind you, but I'm still pretty confident about it.

My go-to list of Beckers would be the 11/14, 16 (or other tweener, 15 would go on for a general camp knife or kitchen knife, while the 17 would be a good hunter), 10 (the 2's a bit thick for a blade that size for my tastes), and 9.

Get the BK-2! That thing'll still be kicking long after the roaches have called it quits.
