HI
I have been looking at tiger coral and I find it very interesting looking. My question is how workable is it,I like sculted handles,
is it hard to drill and shape? Also were does one get some from
Thanks

Most corals are easy to work with. They are soft and sometimes crack or break. Another drawback is that they are porus and like to fill with buffing compound. I suggest that you seal them with superglue before you buff them. knifehandles.com is the best place to get them.

Nathan, save your money and buy a nice piece of ivory or mother of pearl. Tiger coral will break very easy. If you buff it you can not get the buffing compound out of it. It looks like s---.

Has anybody tried stabalizing coral? I really like the looks of it, but I have never worked with it because I have heard it was very fragile.

Would super glue or clear epoxy harden it up?Also maybe clear auto body epoxy,it has a fiber glass resin in it,that is used just for the purpose of hardning soft body work on cars
