A few days ago, I made a request to the community for some help.
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=455985

The response was quick, and I'd like to say thanks to everyone. I'd especially like to thank on_the_edge for his help and wisdom. He took an hour off work today to show me some of his knife collection. It was great talking with him, and I feel better informed of what I'm looking for in a Busse. He definitely went beyond the call of duty helping a pork rind out out. :D

This'll be whisked off to the GBU... Maybe not if I quickly ask:

Well, which do ya like BETTER??? Reg. grips or MAGNUMS??? :D Whatcha gonna get??? :D  COOL MAN!! These Busse Forum people ROCK.

For my hand size, I prefered the magnums on a CGFBM, but they were still a little on the fat side. If I got magnums, I'd be tempted to sand them down a touch. Having said that, I also held a fusion heavy heart that I really liked with standard scales. The standard scales on the more neutrally balanced HH seemed to be a good match, and the magnums on the GCFBM seemed to be a better match for me.

Having said this, I don't think I'm willing to spend the extra $$$ on the change in scales. I'll probably end up doing a "Cliff Stamp", and wrap my standard scales to build up some thickness. After seeing on_the_edge's collection, I have to start saving up for an AD ;)

Active Duty? MY personal favorite. I love them, just got a Murry Carter damascus fishing necker because it reminded me of a Busse AD somewhat. They rock!! Small and useful to no end, I miss my only, a user with an enlarged finger choil... It's out getting pants and a little beauty treatment at Busse CS. before coming home... Seems like an eternity, only really 3 weeks or so. LOL :thumbup:

Yup, the Active Duty is a pretty sweet knife, and is now on my wish list.

Chris, it was good meeting you and talking shop to a fellow affecionado. If down the road, you get a hankerin' to see something else I have, you know where to find me. And maybe sometime soon, we can convince David Brown to put down his AK-47 long enough to get together for a little S. AZ BBQ. Stay in touch...

Some call it help....some call it sharing the addiction...either way Hogs are always happy to help.

Good going on the edge.

I concur with ya, OTE is a great guy. He went out of his way to help me acquire a GW a while back. Thanks again OTE.

I love to hear about these happenings. If it weren't for the patient and good-hearted people around here, I wouldn't have any INFI.

Very kind of you on_the_edge:thumbup:

Glad you got to see some of edge's knives. Sounds like it was a big help to you.

I got to plan a trip to AZ....lots of friendly HOGS, can't seem to find any here in Louisiana?

OTE is good folk.

Now that AZ road trip... that sounds good! I've not been to the desert in over a year. AZ, NM... beautiful, man!

Great things to see out there......Painted Desert.....Petrified Forest.....Busse gatherings in the desert!!!

What would be very cool, IMO, would be a Grand Canyon Busse get-together. If Busse knives and spending time with like-minded folks weren't good enough reasons alone, the GC would top it off nicely.

You know...the wife and I were discussing this just last week......
