Ray Richard may think this is a little too freqently ;) . Took a day and cleaned out the shop and put things back together the way they should be. Lubed those once a year zerks on motors, threw away a bunch of old belts that should have been thrown out long ago, caught up on my material orders, etc. Now that the decks are cleared I'm ready to get back to it for the coming year.

Happy New Year.

What??????????????? You threw out belts? That is Un-American.......... Somewhere, Some-day you will need those slick belts.... Take my word for it:)

Danged if I just don't hold on to old belts too. I have a huge box overflowing with them right now. Can't bring myself to toss 'em.

Hey Jeff, To bad that when a belt is worn out it just doesn't self destruct after you take it off the machine. Maybe we need to come up with a contest and see who can find the most uses for old grinding belts other than everyonce using a piece as abrasive. It would be kind of like the old book "101 Things to do With a Dead Cat".

It wasn't easy to throw some of them out. I had had them for years. I had even thought about giving a few of them names. But it was getting so I couldn't move in the room I do my grinding in.

Ray, the door's always open.

:D I've spent the last couple months walking into my shop, shaking my head, and walking right back out. :D I don't have the gumption to clean that mess up and it needs it badly. My son made Christmas presents in there and left it worse than I do! That's saying a lot too. My shop may not be as messy as Ray's traditionally has been but it's pretty bad.

As for old belts - I use em to determine what I need to order. I log every one before I throw it away and by the end of the year I know what I need to order for the next year. Yeah, throwing them away hurts - but you just gotta do it. ;)
