Once you carry a SAK regularly can you go back to carrying any other knife again.

Yes. The solution is really simple: Pair the SAK (or multi tool) with something else.
There is no law or rule that says: "You can only carry one."

BTW, pairing a SAK (or SAKs)  with a multi-tool  and another knife (or two) is acceptable.

My 2022 carry has included a SAK Hercules and a SAK Evo Grip 14, and a Leatherman Charge+ TTI, usually paired with a stockman or Barlow, and either a Harness Jack or a Canoe. Tho to be honest, there were weeks I added a two blade slipjoint Folding Hunter or Buck 110 on my belt. (The Hercules is clipped to a split ring on a belt loop and Evo Grip is clipped to the same belt loop. I also keep a "Demo Knife" on my rollator walker for the can opener, which I much prefer over the SAK can opener) There were also weeks I carried a BSA Scout/Camp knife, instead of the Evo Grip.
My carry for the last two weeks (excluding 12-24 and 12-25, when I carried a "festive" stockman, and a loom fixer) has been a Barlow and Canoe in my pocket. The two SAK's and the multi tool were still on my belt and belt loop.

I don't see my 2023 carry omitting the SAK's or the multi tool. They do come in handy at times, after all. 😁👍

Its true theres no rule saying you can’t thats for sure. I just get weighted down with all the other stuff in my pockets. 😁

I have to say the SAK has become as natural to have in the front pocket as wearing pants. When I was younger we used to make fun of SAK’s. “Imagine meeting a Swiss soldier during a combat when he pulls out the corkscrew, while I will draw my Mora”. Now I find it to be a perfect gentleman’s tool

I've really no trouble switching between SAK or some sort or normal/fancy/tactical folder. Multitools are the ones I most rarely carry and sometimes they are paired with a Classic

I always have an SAK Classic on my key ring. I also have other knives in my pockets. I also have a multi tool on my belt when I'm working. They all get along and don't argue about who gets used most.

Lol I traded out for a full sized sodbuster for a work knife. But then I considered pairing it with a smaller knife for other tasks
Tried the pioneer for a bit but I really really like pairing it with the recruit
Cause now I got a big blade, a medium blade and a small pen blade for versatility (along with some tools)

The last year or so, I have become very enamored with the SAK. I do in fact find it hard to leave the SAK behind in favor of another choice. So, I bought the Ambassador and regularly drop that in my left pocket and something else in my right pocket if I decide to make it a 2 knife day. As much as I love the smaller Classic, I find it a little fumbly-fingered. I really dig the scissors. I have a whole tackle box full of folders, but the rotation seems to drift to smaller pocket knives like the peanut and smaller stockman's. But there is just something about the SAK....

I normally carry two knives, a sak and a medium to large sized locking folder. About half the time I have a third knife, it will be some sort of traditional pocket knife. When I first started hanging around here I had never tried a sak and I always had a carbon steel slip joint in my pocket.
These days if I’m only carrying one it’s always a sak. Usually it’s a Tinker small however I have been trying to learn to love alox lately so a Pioneer X has been getting some pocket time too.
If I’m wanting to carry two knives the traditional is the first to go. So for me after carrying and using a sak for a while I just don’t want to be without one. A sak and a small pair of pliers is core of my edc choices. I add or subtract the others based of what is happening that day.

No, if I stop carrying one of my two knives it's always the one handed locker usually a Spyderco Native 5 LWT. Ranger stays in the pocket. Too handy and I'm used to the weight now. If I carry it in a skinth it just disappears.
