hi i just recieved an emerson cqc15 and im impressed for the most part. except one thing this knife is designed to be clipped to your pocket and drawn by using the wave feature which is a plus about emersons. i own a few coldsteel folders which utilize the similiar wave feature. my only problem i have is the darn clip is just too stiff and doesnt allow me to remove it well from my pockets. the stiff clip and grippy g10 handle just makes it tough to do so. should i remove the clip and bend the clip to make it looser or should i replace the clip. if anyone has any ideas to help me i would love that very much. this is my first emerson and i wanted to use it for a defense blade but if the deployment is slow than theres no point.

You can bend the clip by wedging some folded paper under it for a night. Or using your finger to slide under the clip. I never take my clips off to bend them:)

pull clip off and sand smooth the g10...Or you could jb weld then sand that under the clip like nutnfancy does it, BUT that's way way overkill IMO.

you should take it off to bend it bc if you bend it while on the knife the screws holding the pocket clip in can come out

I just a CQC-7BW in the mail today, and my clip is the same way. Not very easy to pull from my pocket.

But what a great knife, and the clip will get better with use.

If the screws pull out they were going to the first time you caught the clip on something anyway. There would have already been a problem. Clips get broke off all the time. The screws are not going to break.

Take a plastic tab or something that won't scratch the clip, stick it under and really overextend it a bit and it will be good.

I would recommend taking the clip off before you bend it to your liking so there's no chance of messing up the screws or the threads, but maybe that's just me.

That's for sure. I just bent the clip on the prestige traveler and it was to tight to clip. No damage.

I thought about doing this time. Sometimes it's a real pain to find the happy medium and still have the right pull to wave the knife smoothly.

Perhaps Emerson should take note of this pocket clip issue.

I and a lot of other people do not like having to adjust the pocket clip on a $200.00 knife.

The clip was not as bad as the QC issues I have had out of the brand everyone worships lately :) I like my tight clip. They are the most rigid clips I've seen, if they get hooked on something they spring back while others stay bent.

its been about 15 days since i first posted this and i'd jus like to say from taking the knife out unclipping it and clipping it . it has loosened up to my liking which is awesome i mean some of my jeans are ruined from it but ohwell lmao.

glad to see the problems fixed, torn up pockets is just part of being a knife nut haha
