I'm trying to find a one-armed bandit to attach to some of my lockbacks. Smokey Mountain Knife Works has not responded to my
email inquires about shipping costs to Sweden, so I wonder if you know any other online dealer which sells those babies?

You might try Brigade Quartermaster at http://www.actiongear.com/ I bought one from them some while back and they may still sell them. What with thumb-studs and Spydie Holes, there can't be much demand for them any more.

For a while last year there was a huge fad of adding them to the Buck 110's. Seemed like every time you turned around someone else was doing it, lol

I think the most memorable of all was the Buckbenza, one of my favorite pics :)

If the owner is still a member here, I hope you don't mind me reposting the picture....

That's my BuckBenza. It's a sweet knife. Here's a pic from after I upgraded the blade to BG-42. :D

I just ordered a couple of "bandits" from Smoky Mountain Knife Works. I must have used a dead email address the first time...
I'll keep you posted on how they perform...

BTW, is that knife you posted really a Buck?

Hey Buzz I have one of the original Buck Titanium's with the break down machine screws, I was considering having 2 things done to it, having it anodized, and having it converted to an auto, just curious as to what your opinion is, or do you think I should save it as is. I still have all the original packaging, this was one of the first knives I actively sought out to add to my collection, back in the early 80's.:)

Regarding the One Armed Bandits: I have 2 Buck 110's and am thinking of ordering 2 Bandits from Smokey Mountain Knife Works also.

The blades are 1/8" thick. Which model Bandit is needed? One fits up to 1/8" and the other fits 1/8" - 3/8". I don't know which to order.

Thomas J Ekman: OK, good suggestion. But let me rephrase my question. Which one fits the Buck 110 best??

Nice find!!! Personally....... The first thing I'd do is to contact Joe Houser at Buck, and send that baby in for the BG-42 blade upgrade. And then get a Bandit for it. Now that would be a Buckbenza!!!

A Buckbenza is just a Buck 560 (titanium handled Buck 110) with a BG-42 blade upgrade. Source out a 560 quickly, as it may now be a discontinued model. Then send the knife in to Buck. They'll upgrade the blade to BG-42 for $30.00.

Of the two sizes I find that small fits the 110 the best.

With the larger one fitting the thick blade of my Kershaw
"folding field" knife just right. I did find that if I use the
karge one on my 110 I couldn't keep it tight and it was
forever hanging up on stuff.

Sirs: I am under the impression that there is a relation betwixt 1stop knife shop and bladeforums. I sincerely hope that this post isn't too commercial. If it is, mods please do your moderating.

1sks has Ti Buck 560's.

Very shiny.

Who came up with the name buckbenza, anyhow?

I got my "bandits" today and couldn't wait until I got home to try one.
The text that accompanies the bandits says that the Buck Folding Hunter (must be the 110) works with the smaller version, but the SOG Tomcat should use the larger one.
I tried one on one of my Fox hunter model lockbacks, and it made the knife much better. Just hope that the bandit stays in place. I didn't screw it on too hard...
I'll try one of these for a week, and if it holds up to its reputation, I think I'll recommend those. :)
