Must...not...spend...money...this physically hurts. Too many khukuris to pick from, so few funds.

That's a beauty for sure. Let the record show bawanna don't have a kobra YET. But like Darth, I must resist.

ah...just a litle too late.....oh well...there'll be others.

ems sent, just in case.

You just saved me by 10 seconds dude. Nice choice for a first blade. Mine was a Kobra also. You're set for the zombie invasion for sure.

You might want some really good gloves and some chain mall, not to be confused with shopping mall. Knife Wound? That's a scary name for a first time Khuk buyer.

Seriously, well I don't do serious but be gosh darn careful with that thing. She's a beauty, a really beauty but treated improperly she'll bite ya very badly if you follow the flow of my river.

Curious who got it.

Nerfed shark checking in :-)

Does the 3 bumps at the butt tail means that there is 3 rods in the tang?

How does something like that chop? Weighs about the same as a beefy CAK, assume the length adds leverage to the chop - think it would process wood as efficiently?

Personally I wouldn't classify it as a wood processor, it's more of a meat processor. I'm sure Ndog would apply it to brush and wood in some fashion but probably not anything heavy duty.

More of a weapon than a chopper.

Ive been looking at the Hi and Tora Kurki,s for weeks and I love the history behind them. At first i wanted the thickest blade I could find but im not really looking for a chopper more of a carver. I do understand this giant Kobra is going to weigh in over 2 pounds its like a sword.

A clarification for FlowerOfLife, the length specified at HI is overall length, not blade length (I think it has to do with the curved blades).

at 25 inch blade, its almost as long as a katana blade at 27-29inches...

HI knife lengths refer to overall length, not blade length.

However, your comparison to a katana is right in one respect: The Kobra is a fighting blade, not designed for chopping wood. I suppose you could clear brush with it, but the length and thin profile means that you could easily bend the blade if you take a hard swing at a thick branch.
No doubt people have done it and the blade survived, but it's not advisable, any more than chopping wood with a katana is advisable.

Oops, crossed emails with Ted and Steve.

Yep! I was only about 6 hours late for this one:grumpy: Too bad because i want one. $100 off on todays was a deal and a half! I have a 25" Siru i use for that and i do chop stuff up to maybe an inch or so but not full power swing. I have other tools for that! These are fast blades and work great for thumb size green brush, vines and springy stuff but not no heavy duty stuff. Im pretty sure if you hit a solid piece of log with full hard swing you could torque the blade and probably destroy it. Warranty pretty much explains this. Yep! meat processor it is:D
