Beautiful Wajasaki and a great deal. Good catch Ugly Duck.

Its just too amazing of an incredible deal for me to pass up. So much work went into making these swords.... we are very privileged to have them available to us at these prices.

Say.... What is the difference between a 36" Long Wajasaki and a 36" Everest Katana?

Comparing the pics of today's long Wajasaki to an Everest Katana offered on the 2/8 DOTD, it appears that the Wajasaki has a squared guard and the Katana a round one. The guard is squared on the Wajasaki on the 3/17 DOTD, too. The Katana's habaki may be a little bit longer-can't say for sure. Perhaps young Sher was making an Everest Katana and put the wrong guard on it and it became a long Wajasaki. A great deal for a little epoxy and polish work.
(I'm not caught up on all the names, HI may call it a Wajaski and I've added that extra "a" myself. I looked around and found the proper term for the Katana's shorter companion is Wakizashi. With the quality HI provides, they can call it whatever they like.)

Stick, my (admittedly limited ) understanding is that this is due to a spelling error the first time HI made one. They've just been calling it "wajaski" ever since.

A rose by any other name.....

That's awesome. Doubt I would have been able to resist had I seen this earlier.

A rose is a rose is a rose.

Thanks for the info KRBurke. My understanding is limited also. I joined about when you did and am reading through the archives. Always seem to be off a hair, but that's nothing new. A great weekend to all.
