Some backstory...Loaned my 1999 vintage Emerson Raven to a good friend of mine in the Army who deployed to Afghanistan. He needed a good folder and I was happy to back him up with one of my spare Emersons. This would be this particular Raven's second and final deployment.
Fast forward....He's back home safe now with his wife and kids...BUT....the 'ol Raven didn't fare so well this time out...
Story goes by buddy was assisting with a vehicle breakdown and the Raven became the tool for cutting wires, ties, etc, etc. And it was accidentally left on the ground, in the path of said vehicles...Getting driven over by several military vehicles before getting retrieved......
Parts pictured is pretty much all that is left. Clip was "squished" out of the handle, handle scales have some tread marks on them (adds character). Most of the screws have been "squished" out of the handles too. Part of the pivot is missing too. The tip of the blade is gone as well. But the blade is still sharp and isn't in bad shape. So yeah..One Dead Raven!
Might reincarnate this one as a custom project...not sure of it's future just yet!

I think 'Taps' would be appropriate here. But resurrecting via a custom project sounds much better. "Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology."

Contact EKI and let Ernie and his team know the story behind it, I'm sure they will restore it for you :)

I was thinking about having the blade satin polished and maybe a titanium framelock handle done. Not sure just yet. Might retire it as is, but it would make a heck of a custom project. I don't doubt Emerson would restore it, but this is so far out of warranty realms or anything like that, I'd feel bad even sending it in! :)

But considering it's in its current condition due to having seen battle, I think EKI would be proud to have it back to be serviced.

I think that it looks pretty good for 2 trips over to the sandbox. Glad to hear that your buddy came back in better shape than the knife.

i think you should get it back to working order, keep the battle scars and add more stories to its history.
