Found this cleaver at Habitat for Humanity today. Was out looking for scrap material for a chicken coop but for a dollar I thought an American made cleaver, even a small one, was a good deal. The cleaver was made by Buffalo Knife Company. There is a figure of a Buffalo below the name and the word warrented inside the figure of the Buffalo. There are no other markings that I can find. The cleave has some corrosion and has been used. Someone put a file to the edge but looks like they only did it once. My google mojo is not working for me today and I can not find any data on this company with this logo. Anyone have some info on Buffalo Knife they want to share?

I know no pictures and it did not happen. hehehe

Well the first thing was to clean off the surface rust and sharpen the beast. It had been used enought that the edge was peened flat. Cutting on a hard surface I'm sure. The primary edge agle was 17degs on both sides and the cutting edge was 20deg. The steal was quite hard so I ended up using my diamond sharpners to work the blade down to a fresh edge and then finished with india stones to a razor edge.

All I've cut so far is some vegies for a salad, LOL. I'll have some chickens full grown in a couple months so it will be my primary de-header. I have been using a cheap machete for that task but not the best tool for the job. It will be going to deer camp as well for some field butcher work.

My google fu is still not working for this one. I did find a company called American Buffalo Knife and Tool but no Buffalo Knife company. I'm sure the orignal company is out of business now. Could be ABK&T are the same or a parent company? Would like to know the time frame for this Cleaver.
