just had to share this. was looking on our favorite site and found this listing:
"Schrade Knives Rare Serial #001 Custom Red Pick Bone Folding Knife SUSA1S"
out of curiosity i looked and it is a as stamped on the tang a Taylor made knife. now the kicker is the seller is asking +200 for this rare knife with a serial number stamp of #001. wow i almost couldn't contain my self.

While it is a shame this happens (and has for years), there is little we can or should do about it but to make ourselves aware of it. And to let others know when they visit here asking questions about their newly acquired "precious". I may well have been among the "first bit" with my purchase in 2005 of a new in the clampack 152OT Sharpfinger. That first TBLLC clampack was the spitting image of the authentic Imperial Schrade packaging right down to the American flag on the front. We do live and learn though. Thanks for the heads-up.

ETA: For another good example, look up a thorough boolean search of "Sharpfinger" on that auction site. 24/7/365 you will find blatently misidentified imported knife listed as genuine U.S. made Schrade or even Schrade Walden knives. There are almost always real ones in the mix however, but it takes a discerning eye to find them. And even then a bit of knowledge to know when the sheath, packaging etc. match the issue.

Made by Great Eastern Cutlery for Taylor Brands. Nice knife but very inflated price.
