Most of us in this forum have a drawer full of folders, we keep on rotating the one’s we like most, if you could have only one, one that you can carry every day and will last you the rest of your life. Which one will you choose? It’s not the end of the world, no zombies, no apocalypse. Just one well built knife that will not fail you for the next 40 years.

Which one of your collection will you choose and why? Please post pictures.

…………and yes I know this is an unlikely scenario, since given half a chance I myself will definitely have more than one……..or ten

why? because it is easy to sharpen, i can take it apart easy to clean it, and as far as i know the warranty is good.

also because it is the best knife i have ever bought , cant explain it ,it just is

favorite blade of all time (so far.... ;)

From what I currently have it will be the ZT0550, thick frame lock, large screws that won't strip easily so I can maintain it, not too small not too big, a bit on the heavy side but managable.

My SnG. Because it has a strong, dependable clip and it's reasonably lightweight for it's strength.
Pics later, maybe, if I bring my camera on the hike. :)

Hands down the best knife I have ever handled or owned.

The action of the flipper is so mechanical and intimate, like the feeling you get every time you change gears in your car.

I would go with one of my ZT 056x models. Just love them and haven't found anything that can kick them out of my pocket for more than a day or two

Id have to say my 0550 feels like the knife that will last forever out of all mine.....I do have a 0801 on way should be here tomorrow and alot of people love it!!

If I had to choose, I'd take one with a replaceable lockbar insert, otherwise you'd have to rely on the manufacturer still existing in 40 years from now.
It may take a few years of daily use, but eventually the lockbar/ liner lock will wear out.

Well I already have this one for about 30 years.

and this one for almost 40

They're not worn out so I guess either one would be all i need.

I'd take my Griptilian with Cuscadi micarta scales. Out of all the Kershaws/ZTs/Spydercos/Cold Steels I've owned, I've yet to find a knife I enjoy more than this one. Benchmade simple makes the best opening action on a knife, short of maybe a full custom with a ball bearing system. I've got my pivot loosened to where I can let gravity open and close it when I pull back the lock... It's amazing.

I have a 112 that ive been using for 20+ years during deer season and I feel pretty safe saying it will be good to go for the next 20.
