Here's one for the Arkansas Show that I just finished. [I'm still working on the sheath (blackwood w/silver overlay top & bottom).] The blade on this one is a 32/32 "W" pattern damascus (accordian cut) that I chose in order to look similiar to a wootz. The guard/front bolster & pommel are a "W" as well with a piece of silver next to the blade. I used some mastadon for the handle.

Cool knife Gary. That blade looks like it would be tough to grind, but it looks like you did well on it. How long is the blade?

The grinding & finishing of the blade was certainly challenging as normal "edge first" grinding just didn't work with this one. (The blade is 9 1/2" .)

Thanks again to everyone for all of the kind words.

oh that is so cool Gary. You really nailed to wootz look too. A jambiya, no???

Thanks, Scott. I suppose that it could be called a jambiya but the narrow blade of this one would probably be better described as a khanjar. A jambiya usually has a wider blade but the two terms can be interchangable.

Glad that you liked it.
