No - not sheaths this time - Match Cases... and Mine is a walking stick.

Besides - I could not take a job from Sierra - she is far cuter than me anyway!

Koyote and I worked out a trade a while back. He wanted a match case and a case to hold his super glue (or something - I don't remember).

I machined these up - sent them off to the anodizer and waited. He sent them back hard anodized a neutral color - which comes out a sort of olive green.

I hope he digs!

Here is the Walking stick. The stick is Ash - the handle is something like 5.5 inches by an inch (OD).

Wow great work!
I love the walking stick. I'll be needing one sometime in the future.

I like those Tal. Are the caps just non-threaded "stoppers"? What brand button compasses did you use?

Next thing we know you'll have a hollow handled knife in the offing.

Really excellent work. And yes, super glue. I love the stuff, but it needs more than what it comes in for hard carrying. And hey, I might use one for something else. ...

Sorry for bringing this back from the depths but I have to know. How is this walking stick to use and have you made more of them?

That's a real cool walking stick, but I actually like the containers. I've been looking for a good container to start a small survival kit in, and I saw a guy who made them in titanium but that's just something I really don't need especially for that price. I'm still looking for a container to start with if you've got a website or something.

Edit: Wow, really didn't notice how old this thread was till after I posted. Lol, sorry.

As bad as my hip and knees are getting I really need one of these.

Back from the grave.

I donated that walking stick to a local charity to raise funds for college educations (I am a local professor).

The stick was great. I used a rake rehandle to get the length and material I wanted and simply cut it off for the end user. I also used a threaded bar to secure the two (epoxied only on the hollow handle portion) so that I could always rehandle it.

It was a lot of fun to make.

Funny story about the match cases - this match case is now the final project in the machining class at my college. It fulfills all of the requirements for machining one - so I see a LOT of my match cases on campus - in various states of being made (or destroyed!).
