This is my first completed knife of the year, The handle is resin bonded duck cloth, Orange, yellow, green and Blue. The blade is saw steel with temper line.
I took the inspiration for the handle from my wifes birds.

Hope you like it, thanks for looking

Well I gotta say that, thats probably the most colourfull handle I've ever seen.
She'll love it for sure. :D

A couple pics of the sheath. Sheath is a 2 window inlay, I used denim, thought it would go well with the handle material.

The whole package is very well thought out and well done.

The sheath detail is very cool!

I showed the photo to my wife and she said she would carry a knife like that. Looks great. What if you could make a composite with the bird's shed feathers?

We've been collecting shed feathers for about 2 years. I started doing it for a Friend for fly tyeing but never got them to him. They are about the size of a robin with tail feathers as long as their bodies. They molt about 2 times a year and so for we haven't even filled a gallon zip lock bag. It would be very cool but with the feathers we have I think it would only be enough for one small handle.

I do have plenty of laminate I made for this project and would be happy to make a similar piece.

Thanks

What are the dimensions on the knife?

It looks really good. I like the shape of the handle. If it's like the folder I have it will really fill the palm of your hand and you won't notice that the handle is so short. Nice work on the sheath too.

Thanks, the Knife measures, 3 x 1 3/8ths on the blade and 6 1/2 over all. It tucks in the palm nicely and makes a good secure grip.
