Pitdog sent me a design for a Hatchet / Knife he wanted me to make for him. It`s 3/16" thick, and 11 1/2" overall.

Here is the drawing he sent. He decided against the extended tang, and decided on 6" handles.

Here is the finished "Knatchet."

If you don`t like it, it was pitdog`s idea, :D, if you do, it was mine. ;)

That knife has just given me bad thoughts.

I am mentally picturing Pitdog running around the woods naked with that thing. I don't know what bought that on.

On a more serious note, how is the balance on that knife.

Looks even better in person than in the preliminary drawing! I thought it looked pretty decent on paper, but it looks AWESOME in the flesh! Great work, both of you!:thumbup:

Pitdog will love that. He is into those hybrid knife/axe thingys. Honestly, I think his design looks better than Tom Brown's. Nice work.

That came out great John, looks better than I had imagined it !
Can't wait to test it although it will be after christmas as it has to go to santa first !!!:D

Man oh Man, that came out fantastic and looks like a great user!!! Great design Pit and John great job getting-r-done...

That is going to make a great neck knife:p Small enough for fine work and still big enough to baton.:p
That really did come out looking great. That handle looks perfect for the variety of task the blade could handle.

That looks great! What is the steel? I'm looking forward to a review/action shots. We might have to pay royalties to Pit and get some more of those made!

Normally I'm not a big fan of the full tang hatchet type stuff, but that one looks like quite a functional (and handsome) camp tool. Certainly good for gathering and prepping some kindling or firewood, prepping game, etc.
