Hello all. Here is one that just got done today. It will be at the ABS Expo in San Antonio. The specs are: nine inch blade of 5160H, 416 guard, spacer, and buttcap, all with hammer texture finish. The buttcap is filed to match the stag of course. And of course sambar for the handle. Feels really good in the hand and balances right at the guard.
Thank you all for looking

now that's a real nice southwest style bowie, really elegant and not over the top with curves all over the place.
Really, really well done:thumbup:
Would love to see bigger more detailed pics.

Very nice Brion! It will be nice to see you again, I didn't expect to see you in San Antonio. :)

That is a sweet stag bowie and definitley my kind of knife. Hope you have a great show.

Very Nice Brion, I don't figure that one will last very long. Hope you have a great show.

wow wow WOW Brion, that is perfect for San Antonio! The quintessential stag bowie, beautifully rendered. The subtly curved/ dropped stag handle not only looks great but I'm sure feels comfortable and secure in the hand. I bet the first guy who picks that up off your table ends up buying it from you.

Edited to add: There are elements here that remind me a bit of a Greg Neely bowie. I really like Greg's work too, and he, a Texan himself, really excels at the Texas bowie - a style that you have captured here as well as anyone I've seen.

Thank you for all the nice comments. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. John and Nick I look forward to seeing you there. Now back out to the shop to work on more. Oh and Derrick thank you, comparing it to Greg's work is a great compliment.
Best regards
