I know that we have lots of family guys and gals here on the internet's best forum, and some with young 'uns on the way. So how about some traditional vintage Sheffield cutlery to introduce the apple of your eye to their vitals and to the great world of traditional cutlery? If you're interested, I have two children's cutlery sets up for grabs. The first is by Pinder Brothers of Sheffield in stainless and EPNS, and for the hardcore traditionalist whose kid ain't going to cut their meat and potatoes with no darned stainless, I have an even older set in carbon steel by M Hunter & Sons. The winner can take their pick! Please feel free to post about your family, but a simple 'I'm in' is all that is required to enter. Contest is open to all the regulars here, and I'll send the prize anywhere in the world. I'll let this run until interest fades, then pick a winner by random number generator. Please feel free to post as many times as you like, but the number of your first post is the one that goes in the hat.

I have three daughters myself, a granddaughter, a goddaughter, and a niece. Here's a pic of my granddaughter being introduced to some traditional cutlery ;)

Good luck everyone.

Not a very gratifying response to some good stuff, but I'm not in either. I've got no kids.

I'm not sure we have infant cutlery in my neck of the woods. Baby spoons, yes, but knife and fork? I'm not sure, though there used to be miniature flatware and china for older kids to play with.

Not an entry. Fortunately all of mine are beyond this stage but these are much nicer than the plastic coated spoons mine used. Jack you are doing one cool GAW after another.

Those are very nice sets and create generations of memories. My wife has a silver spoon that was her grandfathers and a silver first cup as well. Again, very kind of you and a great idea.

Thanks guys, looks like there's no interest in this one, so I'll close it :)

I know we have members who have children the right age, or who soon will. I'm sure they will be along by and by.

Mine are old enough to have kids themselves, but don't. So, this is not an entry.
But, it looks like a very elegant set. Very cool!

I'm sure you'll make a great grandpa Frank :)

In view of Frank's comments, I'll give this another go, but I'm only going to draw it if there are 20 or more valid entrants. Otherwise the sets are going back in my 'bottom drawer' ;)

Oh ... c'mon guys & gals ... Cutlery, we are talking about cutlery!!

I´m in for that one!

My son Max was born on 29th January and he´s almost a big boy. He´s the gem in my life. I would do anything for my little son.

Baby Max with his uncle Christian at his (Max´) baptism some weeks ago.

I'm in! My kids assure me that they will be having children over the next few years. I would love to surprise the first with a vintage Sheffield cutlery set. I have three daughters and a son. My son would be over the moon if he's the first, but somehow I think it will be my oldest daughter to have the first child.

I'd be in for this. The pieces are beautiful and would be perfect for little ones.
Thanks. Hate I missed this earlier yesterday. Very generous of you.

Not a mom, dad , or grandparent, so this isn't an entry, but I do have variations on the theme of aforementioned persons of which I am very fond. Great Idea:thumbup:

Please count me in. I have a granddaughter enroute, due late July or early august.

Daughter and mom to be holding MY new puppy.

This is way cool.

Well, my youngest son got married last year, and a baby or two is definitely on their agenda, so what the heck, I'm in!!
Here's a little adult cutlery, to spark some interest - came in the mail today!
I just got in some propane for the grill as well, and we will christen these tomorrow with a little steak on the "barbey"! Yum!!

Jack... you never cease to amaze me with your generosity - its funny, but I was saying to Sue how I am so looking forward to being a Poppa - I never had a nice Poppa and I want to be that for my g-kids, so I am in, if I win I will keep the set for my first grandchild - I am in kind Sir!!!!!!!!!!!1 Thank you my friend.

Charlie- that Steak is going to taste all the better using such fine Cutlery.

I was disappointed by the lack of interest shown in this giveaway, but bearing in mind the QUALITY of contributions, I thought I'd resurrect it. Feel free to enter, I'll draw it at the end of the week whether there are new contributions or not, and the names of the original entrants (all those above) will go in the hat twice.

I'm definitely in on this one. I have three little ones ranging from 7 years, 4 years and 18 months. Here's a picture of them from our camping trip this last week:

I'm in on this one, Jack! Thank you for the opportunity! Here's my Julia at three months. If you'll look closely, you'll see she's holding her sheepsfoot Charlow... :D

Jack - I somehow missed this thread the first time around - I'm thinking it was while I was on vacation without Internet access. Anyway, this is a wonderful and interesting idea for a GAW, but mine is not an entry as I've already benefited more than my share from your generosity. I'll happily share a couple recent pictures of my gang though. The first photo was taken near Blowing Rock, NC earlier this summer and the second was taken just last week here in Gulf Shores. The boys are 10 and my daughter is 7.
